Mousetrap for Human

Mousetrap is for catching mouse, not for grabbing people. Correct!

Then unplug your mouse right now and try to pass a day. It is quite impossible, isn’t it? Computer is a gadget that we cannot live without. Reading news, sending official mails, writing memos, sending thank you notes – all these would take much longer time if this gadget were not in our hands. Productivity has increased manifold, undoubtedly.

How about less productive and “not-so-official” purposes? Are we checking updates on Facebook more often than we check our emails? Am I checking stock-prices of my portfolio more often than I check whether I have received a complaint in email from my customer? Does my personal time in internet overtake the importance of my office duties? All these classic office problems need to be viewed from a self-criticizing perspective of office productivity. If you pass this test, mouse is yours. If you fail, you belong to the mousetrap.
