Why B is not beside A?

Please have a look at your keyboard, now! Have you ever asked yourself, why B is not beside A? Logically? The answer is, “I did not design it”. You are absolutely correct!

Our life is full of things that we did not design. We willingly become a part of it, accepting the way it is. Then we bleat as if things would have been better if it were this way or that way, only when we understand that we are already shackled into it. Otherwise, we do not even understand and fuss about it!

So, only a few smart people devise, design, and impose, and most of us follow because doing otherwise would be counter-productive. Talk about feeling your worth in this world! Today, think otherwise, take charge. See what you can change or influence to change, that would be productive to you and your organization.

Footnote: By the way, initially, when typewriter was invented, B was beside A. It was later changed because three keys, ABC, tended to get jammed (since it was a mechanical device) when typists tried to type quickly. QWERTY keyboard (QWERTY refers to six letters on the upper left side of your keyboard) was designed to let typists type slower so that the typewriter would not get jammed! Give yourself a good laugh next time you efficiently apply your typing lesson.

  1. i think if b is beside the a then our all fingure will not move easily to write any passage and it will take the longer time.

  2. B is not beside A actually doesn’t make any difference in your typing speed. It’s basically your brain knowing the location of the letter in the keypad and over time your finger getting used to it. That’s why we can also type fast in a non qwerty mobile keypad while we type an sms. Have you ever noticed that a phone’s numberpad is totally up side down comparing to that in a calculator? what difference does it make? Probably because someone had already patented that numberpad layout before. 🙂
